Phycitodes carlinella (Heinemann, 1865)
Phycitodes cretacella (Rössler, 1866)
A resident that generally occurs sparingly, although it is sometimes fairly common at mv light on vegetated shingle beaches along the coast and is common amongst deciduous woodland a few miles inland near Arundel. It is double-brooded, flying from late May to mid June and again from late July to late August. However, adults have been seen in every week from mid May to mid September. The larvae feed inside the flower-heads of ragwort. (Pratt, 2011).
