A resident species with all stages usually occurring singly in a very few places in the West, although larvae are sometimes common on Thorney Island. Presumed extinct in the East since its last listing in 1905. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to late June. Larvae feed on hawthorn and wild service. (Pratt, 2011)
