Common

Resident. Occurs sparingly at light in a wide range of habitats, but is occasionally common in a few areas. Only thinly distributed and missing from large areas. Single-brooded,flying mainly from early June to mid October. Larvae feed on the honeycomb produced by the honeybee and the bumblebee. (Pratt, 2011).
