A fairly widespread species that can be fairly common in a few evergreen plantations across the county. It usually occurs singly at mv light in a wide range of habitats. It is single-brooded, flying mainly from the second week of June to late August. The larvae feed on the buds of various kinds of firs including Scots pine. (Pratt, 2011).
