There were several Victorian localities in Sussex the earliest was in Lewes in 1859, at the same time the moth was considered a rarity inside houses at Brighton, but elsewhere it seems well distributed in the Hastings district in 1897. In West Sussex it was not uncommon in a cottage and stables in Worthing in 1886. The life-cycle in the U.K. is not known. (Pratt, 2011)
