A resident species that occurs sparingly at mv light across the county. It is probably double-brooded in overlapping emergences, flying most frequently from late July to late September. The larvae feed on the seeds of Picris and Crepis spp although this has not yet been confirmed in Sussex. (Pratt, 2011).
