Resident. Larvae occur sparingly in deciduous woodland in both vice-counties, although sometimes fairly common in West Sussex, much less so in East Sussex. Single brooded flying mainly May to June. Larvae are said to feed on minute lichens growing on old fences, tree trunks and bushes and fresh leaves of various trees. (Pratt, 2011)
