Aethes cnicana (Westwood, 1854)

A resident species that generally occurs singly at mv light and is widespread. It is sometimes fairly common at Warnham. It is single-brooded, flying from late May to early August, occasionally to the third week of August. The larvae feed inside the seed-heads of marsh thistle. (Pratt, 2011).
