Common

A resident species. Larvae are often fairly common and sometimes common amongst deciduous woodland in the far west, but far fewer colonies are known in the east. Single brooded, flying mainly in June, though this has yet to be confirmed in Sussex. Larvae feed on oak. (Pratt, 2011)
