Arundel park is the only known West Sussex locality for this Nationally Notable Class A species. Victorian collectors found the moth to be fairly common here, after it was first discovered during the 1880's feeding on self heal. The only East Sussex record is of a larva found at Hurst Green on October 22nd 2004. (Pratt, 2011)
