Local

Resident. Larvae are scarce in West Sussex and have gone undetected in East Sussex since last listing in 1934 - but perhaps seriously under-recorded in both vice counties. Usually annually double-brooded, flying mainly during May and again in August. However there was a single emergence with two year cycle as at Eastbourne from 1932-1934. Larvae feed on leaves of cultivated apple and crab apple. (Pratt, 2011)
