Uncertain. Presumed extinct in East Sussex since 1967; never detected in West Sussex. Larvae were formerly sometimes quite common on a very few of our foremost heathery commons containing the larval foodplant. Single-brooded. Flying mainly during July, although this has yet to be confirmed in Sussex. Larvae feed on petty whin (Pratt, 2011).
