Common

Resident. Larvae occur sparinglyin a few localities in both vice-counties. Probably recently under-recorded in the east.
Double-brooded, flying recently mainly from early April to early May and during July. Adults appear chiefly during May and August at Eastbourne during the early 20th century.
Larvae feed on “wild apple“, crab apple, and garden apple. (Pratt, 2011)
