A resident species whose larvae generally occur sparingly or fairly commonly in deciduous woods, especially in the West. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-July until autumn, and again after hibernation in the following spring up to early May. Larvae feed on sycamore samaras. (Pratt, 2011)
