A resident and suspected immigrant. It usually occurs singly or sparingly in a wide range of habitats, more especially along the coast. Episodic in appearance. Single brooded, flying mainly during the second week of July to mid August, occasionally from late June or to mid September. The larval foodplant in Sussex is yet to be determined. (Pratt, 2011)
