A resident species presumed extinct in both vice-counties. Most recent record was at Marley Common in the extreme north-west in 1986. Previously native and sometimes common in certain mature oak woods. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-June to mid-July. Elsewhere, larvae feed on cock's-foot, wood-rush and wood meadow-grass. (Pratt, 2011)
