A resident species that normally occurs singly or sparingly in a wide range of habitats, but sometimes fairly common and occasionally common at mv light near its foodplant. Widespread but extremely local in high numbers. A single brooded species, flying mainly from the third week of August to early October. The larvae feed on ash. (Pratt, 2011)
