A resident species, usually occurring singly or sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats, but occasionally fairly common to common in a few woods or bushy places. Local and episodic in any numbers. Well distributed in large areas. Single-brooded, flying mainly from early July to early August. Larvae feed on oak, elm, apple and plum. (Pratt, 2011)
