The local status of this nationally rare moth is uncertain. Presumed extinct in the east since the mid-1960's and undetected in the west since 1995. An elusive species, very local and distinctly episodic in appearance. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-July to late August. Larvae feed on English elm and Wych elm. (Pratt, 2011)
