Resident. Usually occurs singly or sparingly in a wide range of grassy habitats, but it is occasionally fairly common to common at mv light in marshes at Lewes, Hailsham, and Pevensey. Very local and irregular in numbers. Widespread. Single-brooded, flying mainly from early July to late August. Larvae feed on reed (canary) grass and unidentified variegated strains of cultivated ribbon grasses. (Pratt, 2011)
