A resident species, regularly reinforced by immigration. Often fairly common to common and sometimes very common at mv light when migration takes place. Probably generally distributed. Broods vary but range from two to three per season, one of which is always partial. Adults emerge from February to April, and sometimes from late May to early July, but most numerously from mid-August to early November. Larvae will eat "almost any green herb". (Pratt, 2011)
