A resident and immigrant species. Often common to very common at mv light along the coast in a variety of habitats, less frequent inland. Generally distributed. Usually double-brooded and sometimes triple-brooded, adults most commonly encountered from mid June to mid July and again from mid August to early October. The larval foodplant has not been recorded in Sussex. (Pratt, 2011)
