A resident and suspected occasional immigrant in the east where adults usually occur singly or sparingly at mv light and larvae are sometimes fairly common; a very rare immigrant to the west. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-June to early August. Larvae feed on withered leaves of beech, oak and hornbeam. (Pratt, 2011)
