A resident species, usually occurring sparingly or fairly commonly at mv light in a wide range of habitats, but sometimes fairly common in woodland clearings. Well distributed, probably generally so in large areas, but very local in numbers. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-June to mid-August. Larvae feed on knotgrass and Monterey cypress. (Pratt, 2011)
