A resident species often fairly common to common at mv light in deciduous woods, is sometimes very common or even abundant at Plashett Wood and Kingspark Wood but is generally rare along treeless parts of the coast. Only thinly distributed in the county, and extremely local. This species is single-brooded occurring mainly from the second week in January to mid March, although adults have been seen in every week from early December to mid April. Larvae feed on oak. (Pratt, 2011)
