A resident species, usually occurring sparingly or fairly commonly but sometimes in woods and bushy places commonly to very commonly at mv light. Widespread but distinctly local and recently declining in any numbers. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-June to late July. Larvae feed on wild rose. (Pratt, 2011)
