A resident species usually seen sparingly or fairly commonly at mv light in a wide range of habitats, but sometimes common to very common when flying naturally at night or when disturbed by day. Probably generally distributed away from the north-east, but high numbers are extremely local. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to mid-September. Larvae reportedly feed on dock, chickweed and other low-growing plants. (Pratt, 2011)
