A resident that often occurs sparingly or fairly commonly in a wide range of habitats, although it is sometimes common at mv light on waste ground near the coast, especially on vegetated shingle beaches. Widespread in the west, less so in the east, but very local in numbers. In decline. Generally single-brooded, flying mainly from early July to mid August, occasionally from late June. Larvae feed on Dandelion and have also been associated with hedge bedstraw. (Pratt, 2011)
