Local
A resident and suspected immigrant that is thinly distributed in the south and the far west but missing from elsewhere in the county. It is very local and can be episodic in high numbers. Sometimes common and occasionally very common at mv light. The moth can be found in a wide range of habitats including downland, vegetated shingle, heathland and clearings amongst deciduous woodland. Single-brooded, flying mainly throughout August. The larval foodplant has not been determined but is unspecified grasses elsewhere. (Pratt, 2011).
