A resident species. Both larvae and adults usually occur singly, sometimes sparingly, in a few deciduous woods and commons in both vice-counties. Probably seriously under-recorded. Single-brooded, flying mainly from early May into June. Larvae feed on silver birch. (Pratt, 2011)
