Common

A resident species. Larvae are scarce and episodic in appearance amongst deciduous woodland in West Sussex; apparently very rare in East Sussex. Single brooded, flying mainly during May and June, although this has yet to be confirmed in Sussex. Larvae feed on birch. (Pratt, 2011)
