Local

Resident. Usually occurs singly at mv light and on sugar, occasionally sparingly, preferring oak woods in both vice-counties. Very local. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid July to the third week of August, after which the species quickly goes into an intermittent hibernation; after winter it flies much more frequently, from late February to the second week of May. Larvae feed on oak, (silver) birch, and maple. (Pratt, 2011).
