Status and ecology:

A resident species usually occurring singly or sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats but is occasionally common in a few reed-beds. Single-brooded flying mainly from late August to late November. Larvae feed on stems of common reed. A UK biodiversity Action Plan species. (Pratt, 2011)
