An immigrant moth which occurs singly by day and at mv light, sometimes sparingly, although it is occasionally fairly common along parts of the East Sussex coast. Widespread but extremely local and distinctly episodic if more than singletons are encountered. Detected annually since 1972. Arrives from the continent in waves chiefly between early June and early November, with numbers being boosted by home-grown emergences during the autumn. Adults have been recorded in every week of the year except for the first and third weeks of December and the last three weeks of January. The larvae feed on lady's bedstraw and other species of bedstraw. (Pratt, 2011)
