A resident and suspected occasional immigrant. Normally occurs sparingly at mv light though sometimes fairly common to common on heathland in the west. In serious danger of extinction in the east of the county. Well distributed in the far north-west of the county but very local in numbers. A triple brooded species flying mainly from early April to late May, more numerously from late June to early August, the again less frequently throughout August. The larvae feed on heather.
