A resident species, usually occurring sparingly at mv light, although often common to very common by day in both vice-counties. Double and sometimes triple-brooded, flying mainly from mid-April to mid-May, again from late May to late June and episodically during July and August. Larvae feed on the seeds of gorse. (Pratt, 2011).
