Status and ecology:
National Status: Common
A resident species, well-distributed in the far West where larvae are sometimes common amongst deciduous woodland; apparently scarce in the East. Single-brooded, flying mainly during July although this is not confirmed within the county. Larvae feed in the leaves of dog rose. (Pratt, 2011)
